A signature luxury jewelry boutique inside Jumeirah Al Naseem required an urgent architectural restoration of its centerpiece circular ceiling cove. A previous contractor had attempted on-site gypsum bending, resulting in visible segmentation, uneven radiuses, and surface ripples that compromised the boutique’s luxury identity. Zarco Star Building Contracting L.L.C was appointed to reconstruct the entire circular feature to meet five-star hospitality standards.
Recognizing that manual on-site curved drywall framing could not guarantee true geometric perfection, our engineering division designed custom CNC-machined negative moulds in our fabrication facility. Using high-density glass-reinforced gypsum (GRG), we cast precision interlocking segments with calibrated radiuses, structural ribs, and concealed mounting brackets. Following client inspection of a test mockup, the bespoke precast sections were delivered to site.
Installation required high-level artisan craftsmanship. Once the GRG segments were mechanically anchored to the structural soffit, our finishing artisans treated every joint with specialized polymer compounds until completely undetectable under raking light. The cove was then primed and finished with high-sheen specialist paint and architectural gold accents, producing an uninterrupted circular glow from concealed perimeter LED channels.
The restored cove was delivered on schedule, turning a former defect into the boutique’s premier design centerpiece. The flawless radius and reflective finish demonstrate the technical superiority of in-house GRG engineering over conventional on-site drywall construction.
