About the Project
Renovation work inside Dubai Mall is never a straightforward task. With thousands of visitors flowing through the mall each hour and the environment operating under strict quality, safety, and aesthetic guidelines.. ZARCO® was trusted to remove the existing aluminum cladding and upgrade it to a modern perforated USGME P6 gypsum system. A material chosen for its cleaner appearance, enhanced finish, and improved functional performance.
The work areas were spread across significant elevations within the mall, and reaching them safely meant deploying spider lifts and boom lifts. Operating at such heights inside an active retail environment demanded certified, highly trained professionals, and to meet the mall’s compliance requirements, ZARCO® ensured its entire team underwent official certification for both lifting systems before the project even began.
Executing high-level removals and installations while maintaining the mall’s day-to-day operations required exceptional coordination. Noise restrictions, visitor safety, pathway management, and uninterrupted tenant activity shaped the way the project had to be scheduled.
The installation of the new USGME P6 gypsum boards required special attention. These perforated systems are sensitive to alignment and finishing details, meaning every joint, every corner, every curve had to be handled with accuracy. Our taping and jointing teams worked in synchrony with the painting specialists to achieve a uniform finish that met Dubai Mall’s strict visual standards.
Working within the mall’s approval framework added additional complexity. Each shift, movement, material drop, and method of work needed to be approved prior to execution. ZARCO®’s experience in regulated environments allowed our team to maintain full compliance while progressing at an efficient pace.
The work was executed during both day and night shifts depending on mall activity levels, ensuring the schedule remained on track.
ZARCO® has maintained consistent communication with Dubai Mall’s facility management to ensure every observation is resolved with the same level of precision as the main execution.
Once completed, the upgraded surfaces will not only improve the mall’s aesthetic appeal but will also enhance durability and long-term performance.
